Dieter Sieger (born May 3, 1938 in Münster) is an architect, shipbuilder, product designer and artist. In the 1980s and 1990s he wrote design history with his designs for the “Domani” single-lever mixer (1985) and the “Tara” cross-handle mixer (1992).

Sieger’s passion is also about art – he has been collecting paintings and sculptures for 50 years, and has been active as a draftsman and painter for even longer. The latest colour field paintings by Sieger reveal the spirit of Italy and Italian designers in their intense composition – personal encounters with Alessandro Mendini, Fabrizio Plessi, Mimmo Paladino, Miguel Berrocal and Ettore Sottsass not only shaped Sieger’s professional work. The artist, who himself lived in Venice for a long time, today implements his feeling for colour, form and composition into partly large-format works, which correspond to the light and the joy of life of Italy and easily defy the straightforwardness of his geometric-architectural designs and their functional requirements.
