The latest works by Klaus Hack on show in our exhibition were created not only in Seefeld near Berlin, where the sculptor lives and works, but also in Westphalia, where Hack was artist in residence in the weeks leading up to the vernissage.

The partly monumental and yet filigree wooden sculptures are characterised by a high level of precision craftsmanship and aesthetic expressiveness. The sculptor uses only wood for his sculptures and reliefs, which he finishes in white to intensify the effect of light and shadow. Abstract-looking works such as the Tower of Babel stand on an equal footing with Christian symbols and archaic or protective-looking figures that seem like beings from another world.
