INTERMEZZO gives young artists a forum to introduce themselves:

Yoana Tuzharova, who comes from Bulgaria, studied at the Münster Art Academy and won the GWK Art Prize 2022. She shows two light installations that are located somewhere between architecture, sculpture and painting. In these works, the artist is primarily concerned with the use of colour contrasts. She places large areas of color against and on top of each other and lets them shine with light, transferring form and depth to a new dimension.

Peter Schloss studied philosophy, political science and art and incorporates aspects of all disciplines in his art. His works can also be described as “thinking tools” by means of which he reflects on different systems. The mobilé installed in our gallery is in this sense a very typical “Schloss” work: the spirit level is the epitome of a tool that precisely shows an ideal state and enables deviations from this ideal to be determined and displayed. If the ideal of the mobile is disturbed by external influences, it starts moving, but then calms down and returns to its original state.

Gro Lühn, who was born in Norway, studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg with professors Gotthard Graubner, Richard Hamilton and David Hockney. As a curator, she has been responsible for art installations in the staircase of the Hafenweg 22 building in our immediate vicinity for more than 20 years, where Tuzharova and Schloss have also exhibited. As an artist, Gro Lühn works across borders and genres. Sculptural interventions in interior and exterior spaces stand alongside photography and serial works. In addition to a light installation and a sculptural work made of polished steel, Gro Lühn is showing a 25-part wall piece made of coloured wax plates.
