Under the term NATURE, Stefan Kaluza, Dieter Nuhr and Benjamin Nachtwey come together to address landscapes and details of nature in the most diverse ways.

Whether in painting, photography or literature – Stefan Kaluza is always concerned with the process, with changing perceptions. His paintings from the series “Transit” exhibited here – water surfaces, undergrowth, grass thickets – deal with the essence of untouched nature.

Dieter Nuhr developed his conceptual photography considerably further in recent years and took advantage of the corona-induced forced break to work with archive material. From the layering of images and details as well as from experimenting with digital possibilities, works emerge that detach the motifs from their natural environment and reweave them in countless layers.

Benjamin Nachtwey works in series that result from the intensive examination of individual motifs – be it petrol stations, forest clearings or, as in this exhibition, the landscape around Mont Gaussier in Provence. It is not the realistic depiction of reality that is at the forefront of his painting, but the depiction of colour and light phenomena, which the artist describes as “structural investigations”.
